This could be a good way to check listening and/ or reading comprehension. My favorite is Sock Puppets. (It's hysterical!) I recently did this at the end of Los Baker chapter 4 since I was in & out of school for most of the chapter. I gave students the choice of drawing a 6-framed comic, using an online comic tool, to use a storytelling app, or some other visual representation of the chapter.
